この研究がスゴい! Internet 試験や成績は一切なし。17歳以上なら誰でも入学できる、デンマーク発祥の教育機関「フォルケホイスコーレ」をご存じでしょうか。デンマーク語で「フォルケ」は民衆、「ホイスコーレ」は高等学校を意味します。日本では「人生の学校」とも呼ばれ、近年はフォルケホイスコーレをモデルとした施設が岩手県や北海道で設立されるなど、注目が高まっています。
試験も成績も存在しない不思議な学校は、どのようにして生まれたのでしょうか。今回は、建築・都市デザインの視点からフォルケホイスコーレに着目して研究している東洋大学助教の矢野拓洋さんに、フォルケホイスコーレの魅力や歴史的・文化的背景、デンマークの建築や都市空間との関係についてお話を伺います。
