  本研究では，初等・中等教育から，高等教育までの「教育測定データの蓄積」を，「発達面・社会面で配慮が必要な児童生徒」の支援制度の設計を進めていくための基盤となるデータとして捉え直す。その上で，次の2つの課題の克服に向けた支援策の設計をめざしている。 ① 暦年少者の大学受験機会の保証 ② 外国人児童生徒の教育測定に基づく支援 上記の事例は，潜在的な能力はありつつも，成長発達や社会言語面で不利な点が，進学などへの足かせになっていることが想定される事例である。ここでは，個人の処遇に直結する「大学・高校の入試データ」を対象とし，その蓄積の活用を図る。そして，事例ごとに対象となる教育測定データを検証する。また，入試そのものの実態調査も行い，事案固有の要件をふまえた支援方策を立案することをめざすこととしている。 令和3年度は，特に①の「暦年少者の大学受験機会の保証」に関する研究を進めた。大学入試センター試験 (以下，センター試験)をどんな背景を持つ者が受験しているかを把握するために，志願者の年齢を分析した。新卒志願者について月齢ごとに区分して，人口動態調査から得られた全国学年コーホートの月齢人口に対する志願率を分析した。その結果，暦年長者である程，センター試験の志願率が高い傾向が見出された。その一方，英語や数学の試験の成績は，逆に暦年少者ほど高く，国公立大学の合格率も高いことがわかった。 そこで，「21世紀 出生児 縦断調査」の データを新たに分析した。その結果，高校進学時には，暦年少者は学力面で不利であったが，その後の高校の学習過程で 次第に学力が伸び，学力意識としても 自覚されていることが明らかになった。

  保育所、幼稚園、公私別、地域別に行われている就学前後の外国籍児童の状況調査と実践事例のメタ分析を進めている。 多元的制度によって就学前教育が運営されている我が国の現状から、就学前の年齢の外国籍児童の実態を包括的に調査したデータが少ない。しかし、この数年様々な研究調査が行われるようになってきた。その知見を整理し、分析を進めている。現在のところ以下のような点が確認されている。 ①保育者の困り感の調査では、保護者に関する報告が多い：保護者とのコミュニケーションがうまくいかない、保育の方針がうまくつたわらない、保護者の園への協力が得られない、子どもの持ち物に不備が多い等である。次に多いのは、文化差による食習慣や時間の感覚の違いに関するものが多い。②子どもへの心配については、意識が強い場合とあまり問題視していない場合とがある：複言語環境で発達する子どもの支援は第二言語として日本語を学ぶ場合と異なる支援が必要だということが、あまり理解されていない。③発達障害等の医療につなぐべき特別な支援ニーズがある子どもなのか、文化差・言語の違いからの課題なのかの判断に苦慮されている。 ④外国につながる就学前の子どもの実態は、自治体の意識が高くないとつかめない：小学校就学の案内も、義務教育の対象ではないという理由で届かない、あるいは届いても日本語の手紙のみという場合が多い。中小の自治体では、転出入や自治会に依頼して不就学児童が出ないような取り組みをするところもあるが、大都市圏では生活圏の中で実態を把握するのが難しい。また就学前から学齢期の接続期の子どもについては、責任をもつのが誰なのか、自治体によって対応が分かれている。 以上の点を踏まえて、2019年度は、１）子どもへの支援を検討するための保育現場の調査と、２）他領域の研究分野の知見を含めた家庭への支援に関する調査、をさらに進めていく予定である。

  This study explored the desirable styles of empathy for kindergarten and nursery school teachers to keep their mental health at work, using the data collected from students in the kindergarten and nursery-school teacher education courses, kindergarten and nursery-school teachers, and parents of kindergarten and nursery-school children. The results showed that in maintaining their mental health it was necessary to reduce their emotional susceptibility and self-oriented emotional reactivity. From the results above, we made an educational program focusing on self-understanding of empathy to use in seminars for kindergarten and nursery-school teacher education courses.

  In recent years, the globalizing society demands more sophisticated abilities to communicate directly with the people from different countries. The current research examined abilities required for the dialogic situations and conducted studies on test development in order to evaluate speech communication abilities. During this research project, the following three phases were conducted: 1) historical analysis and evaluation on the English listening comprehension tests of the National Center Test, 2) constructions of a quantitative model to represent relationship between characteristics of speech sound and impressions of the speaker’s personality, and 3) experiments to evaluate English listening testing utilizing converted speech sounds whose fundamental frequencies were changed.

  The purpose of this study is to develop programs to prepare the teacher candidates who will work in kindergartens/daycare centers with increasing cultural diversity. A set of the data was collected by interviewing professors and observing classes of their teacher education programs in the U.S. The second set was collected in Japan by interviewing young and veteran teachers and administrators regarding how they view and work with children with diverse cultural backgrounds, especially the Japanese Language Learners (JLL). The third was collected from special programs for young JLLs before entering the elementary schools. The findings suggested that the current and future teachers need to develop culturally responsive attitudes toward diversity. This requires abilities to understand children from families with diverse cultural backgrounds, and knowledge of bilingual development in order to provide equal learning opportunities for all learners.

  This study aimed to develop a new educational-evaluation method for speech com-munication based on logical thinking, suitable expression and person perception. Study 1 focused on multidimensional relationships between prosodic features of speech sound and personality impressions. Study 2 examines relationships between the Eng-lish listening comprehension test and other subjects in the National Center Test.
