    オスマン朝における土地制度は徴税制度と密接なつながりを有する。それゆえに、「検地（tahrir）」は、国家による土地の掌握事業において極めて重要な意味を有する。しかし、その記録たる検地帳(tahrir defteri）を史料的に検討してみると、文字・図示情報で土地そのものの形貌・位置・面積が記されていない。むしろ徴税関連の情報のみに限定されていることを史料から明示した。

    オスマン朝の「ティマール制」と称される土地制度は、単なる土地制度の枠を越えて国家体制・社会体制を規定する重要な制度であった。そこでマラティヤ地方の検地帳の分析から特異なティマール制である「マリキャーネ・ディーヴァーニー制」の実態を明らかにして、国家創成期から帝国と称される16世紀に至るまでの制度の変遷・整備過程の一端を解明し、土地制度が全国一律ではなく地域の実情に応じた形で施行されていた事実を示す。

    夭逝したセリム１世の後を継いだスレイマン１世こそ、セリム１世が征服したイスラーム世界にオスマン朝の国家組織を構築した君主である。そしてオスマン朝の本拠地とイスラーム世界との接点となっていた東アナトリア地方にはスレイマン１世が模索していた国家組織の雛形やそれに対する旧支配者・旧被支配者たちの動向がみてとれる。そうした諸問題をマラティヤ地方の例を取りながら説明する。

    オスマン朝は第10代君主スレイマン大帝の時代に至って｢帝国｣と称されるまでの国家体制を完成させた。その体制は国家の中枢たる宮廷組織の中央体制を一方の柱とし、片方でその中央体制に集権的に結びつく地方体制を柱としていた。この地方体制について、階層的地方行政・徴税・軍事・司法などの諸組織と、そのもとで展開していた農村・遊牧民・都市などの社会について説明する。

    【研究分担者として参画】イスラームとキリスト教という唯一神を奉ずる宗教について、人である聖者や器物たる聖遺物に対する崇敬が、現実の信徒の信仰には不可欠の内在的要素として唯一神崇拝を補完しており、それら聖者・聖遺物崇敬が今日、新たな形で展開しているという仮説を出発点とする。その検証を通して、原理主義への着目とは異なる、現代の宗教のあり方への理解を深める。中東と地中海周辺域を中核的な対象地域に、両宗教の比較を絡めて世界各地で事例研究を行い、人類学を中心に歴史学と思想研究の協働を進める。

    地域研究の進展にともない、従前まで看過されてきた日本と世界を結節する様々な研究が進展しているなかで、本研究は、戦前・戦中期の日本の回教政策とは何であったのかを解明するために、その重要資料である大日本回教協会（1938-45）旧蔵写真資料について、そのデータベースを構築・運営してきた早稲田大学イスラーム研究機構プロジェクトの終了を受け、その成果をさらに昇華させ、当該画像資料の徹底的な実態分析して、アーカイブを構築することである。そのために多くの国内外の研究協力者を迎えて研究ネットワークを組織し、本写真資料について徹底した補完資料の探索・分析を国際共同研究によって進めることを計画している。

    【研究代表者】 戦前から戦中、そして諸状況が一変した戦後直後を含めて、昭和前期の日本において、在日イスラーム教徒たちが、日本の政府・官界・軍部そして民間に対して関係を構築すべく講じてきた滞日活動の実態を、埋もれている記述史料を発掘し、関係者への聞き取り調査を行いながら、解明していくものである。昭和前期の在日イスラーム教徒の多くは、タタール系トルコ人、ともに反英独立活動を目指していたインド人やエジプト人であった。本研究は彼らの活動を従前呼称される「回教政策」のように日本を主体とした枠組みだけでなく、対日活動としてとらえることにより、主体を在日イスラーム教徒に据えて日本を舞台に展開した世界規模の宗教・民族運動を解明することを通して、日本とイスラーム世界との関係・交流史、また日本史を世界規模で再認識するうえでの基盤を構築することを目的とする。

    【研究分担者として参画】 ギリシャで発生した金融危機とエジプトにおける民衆運動について、歴史的見地を含めて調査研究した。インフォーマントへの聞き取り調査を行い、得られた情報の整理をするとともに、政府発表の公式統計データ等との突き合わせを行い、彼らの行動規範をネットワーク論の立場から考察した。ギリシャ、エジプトの社会経済変動過程にあって、人びとがとった行動パターンは、ローカルであるとともに国外に広がるグローバルなものであった。われわれは、彼らが近代国家の枠を超えた世界観をもち、家族や共同体の紐帯のもとに、個人的な、ないし家族的なネットワークで行動することが多いとの認識（仮説）をもつに至っている。

    【研究分担者として参画】 スーフィズムや聖者信仰は、厳格な一神教と思われがちなイスラームの包括的な性質を捉えるのに格好の主題である。本研究は、思想研究、人類学、歴史学の各分野の研究を総合し、スーフィズム・聖者信仰複合と名付けるところの総体を捉える理論的視座の確立を目的とする。とくに、政治的なイスラーム主義に目を奪われがちな近現代イスラーム理解を相対化するためにも、本研究では19世紀以降のスーフィズムと聖者信仰の展開に力点を置いた。単独および共同での現地調査に加え、研究会等を積み重ね、学術誌上に特集を4回組み、国際会議での部会発表を経て、スーフィズムの三極構造論、スーフィズム・聖者信仰複合論のさらなる精緻化を達成した。

    This research was related to the relationship between Japan and the Islamic World during the first half of Showa Era, because the Japanese people tried to promote the contact with the Islamic World. For the purpose of this theme, I tried to shed light on the Tatar exiles in Interwar Japan, based on the analysis of the various source materials in both Japan and Turkey. Specifically, I tried to clarify the roll of Tatar exiles in Japan during the first half of Showa era, depending on various source materials, such as the photographs and letters of Prof. Koji OKUBO(Komazawa University), who was the pioneer of the Turkish study in Japan and the meditator between Japan and Tatar exiles. I also drew up the life of the Tatar exiles through the family album of a Tatar exiles in Japan and Korea, which I found in Istanbul.

    【研究分担者として参画】 今年度は交付申請書に基づき、下記のような活動を行った。(1) 研究会:計4回の研究会を下記の通り実施した。第1回:4月24日、加賀谷寛氏による問題提起と意見交換第2回:5月30日、第3回中東研究世界大会パネルのための予備発表研究会第3回:6月20日、海外連携研究者Sanaa Makhlouf氏による問題提起と意見交換。今年度の研究計画に関する研究打ち合わせ第4回:2月17日、研究分担者・濱田正美氏および若手研究協力者・今松泰氏による問題提起と意見交換。今年度の研究進捗状況総括と来年度に向けての計画についての研究打ち合わせ(2) 第3回中東研究世界大会への参加:7月にスペイン・バルセロナで開催された左記国際会議において、日本のスーフィズム研究者が組んだパネルの中核を担い、企画・発表・コメントなどを行った。(3) 海外調査:現地文献調査、フィールド調査、現地連携研究者との連携関係促進を意図して、下記の海外調査を行った。東長靖:8月、トルコ、林佳世子:8月、バルカン半島

    This study clarifies the characteristics of Japanese policy toward "Jewish Question" and "Muslim Question" compared with that of the Axis such as German and Italy that allied with Japan by Tripartite Pact during World War II. At the same time, the differences of the Axis policies toward Muslims and Jews are made clear by explaining the different conditions under which Muslims and Jews lived in the Middle East and North Africa on the one hand and East Asia and Southeast Asia on the other.

    This study focused on a hypothesis that ethnic cleansing was a modern phenomenon based on a principle that state should be built on an ethnic nation. In three years of research, we have compared cases, both modern and pre-modern, of Europe, Eurasia, Middle East, Africa, East Asia. As a result, we found the trend that ethnic cleansing began in early modern Europe, then it spread over the Eastern Europe, the Balkans, Middle East, Asia, Africa, and former Soviet Union.
