    This research propose that, when the rate of functional advancement is high, development organizations is needed to shear system knowledge with development members, in conjunction with modularize their development object. When the rate of functional advancement is high, coping well with increasing development task became critical matter. Existing research has shown that modularizing development object is a basic and effective mean to this matter. Modularizing object increase organization’s development capacity by allowing task partition. This research provide new insight into these studies by indicating that there is negative influence path from modularizing object to organization’s development capacity. We propose that, when the rate of functional advancement is high, modularizing development object may hinders sharing of system knowledge between project members, consequently undermine organization’s development capacity.

    Rayleigh Model is a statistical model which can be used to estimate total software defects injected during software development projects. However, it sometimes produces contradictory estimations, that is, actual total defects exceeds an estimation result. This study proposed a conditional probability based method to predict total software defects. The result showed that the method produced no contradiction and improved estimation errors. This study also analyzed factors which influenced software defect prediction in terms of defect injection phases and leakage in unit testing. The result showed that possibility of specification changes has an impact on defect injection in architecture design phase, requirements difficulty influences on defect injection on detailed design, and module size influences on leakage in unit testing.

    A survey on the state of the art of software cost estimation studies and an analysis on the relation among effort, duration and software size were discussed as a preliminary study. Based on these discussions, the primary research target was set to focus on injection and detection of software defects which largely affect on both effort and duration. Software defect prediction models for a single project and a model for multiple concurrent projects were derived as the primary outcomes of this research project.

    本研究では、複数のイテレーションから構成される並行型ソフトウェア開発プロセスを数理的にモデル化し、未摘出欠陥が後続イテレーションに与える影響を考慮したソフトウェア開発プロジェクトの遅延リスクを、モンテカルロ・シミュレーションにより定量的に評価する研究を実施している。平成16年度の研究に引き続き、本年度は、数理モデルの洗練と、実プロジェクトデータによる提案モデルおよびシミュレーション結果の検証に取り組んだ。著者がこれまでに示した研究では、ソフトウェア規模にLOC (Lines of Code)を用いていたが、提案モデルの検証に利用可能なデータセットはLOCではなくFP (Function Point)でソフトウェア規模が測定されていることから、提案モデルをFPベースのものへと変更した。現在、ISBSG (International Software Benchmarking Standard Group)が提供するデータセットを用いての検証研究に取り組んでいるところであり、その成果を学会等で報告し、論文誌に投稿する予定である。 また、RE (International Conference on Requirements Engineering)2005およびISESE (International Symposium on Empirical Software Engineering)2005、ならびに国内の研究発表会やシンポジウム等に参加し、最新の研究動向を調査した。さらに、組込みソフトウェアやアプリケーションソフトウェアを搭載して出荷される製品の開発企業を訪問し、製品開発におけるプロセスについてヒアリングした。
