• 動作課題と用具の振りやすさの違いが上肢スウィング動作に与える影響の解明

  野球の投動作やテニスサーブのように，ボールや打具を加速する上肢のスウィング動作はスポーツで散見され，その機序は身体特性との関係を中心に議論されてきた．しかし，打具（ラケットやバット）とボールでは，「運動課題（回転運動の制御の必要性）」と，「慣性特性（運動中の慣性モーメントの変化）」が大きく異なる．このことは，両者では操作技術が異なる可能性を示唆している．そこで，本研究では「打具とボールを振る場合では，選手に求められる技術が異なるか」，「動作中における用具の慣性モーメントや形状の変化は，上肢スウィング動作に影響するか」について明らかにする．なお，実験条件を任意に設定するために，剛体リンクモデルによる関節トルク入力型のコンピュータシミュレーションを用いて行う．具体的には，ヒトの上半身を模擬した剛体リンクモデルに対し，関節可動域とトルク発揮特性（関節角度―トルク関係，関節角速度―トルク発揮関係）を考慮した関節トルクを入力する． 現在は，シミュレーションプログラムの作成を完了し，ヒトをモデル化する際のパラメータ決定を行っている．また，異なる慣性特性の用具を用いたスウィング動作として，投動作とテニスサーブを対象に予備実験を実施し，例えば両動作には，上肢の各セグメントを順次流入出する力学的エネルギーの形態が異なり，投動作は並進運動エネルギーが大半を占め，サーブでは回転運動エネルギーも伝達しているなど，相違点が存在することを確認した．現段階では，その要因が慣性特性よりも加速対象の形状の違いによる影響が大きいと予想している．
• Quantifying the margin for error in Tennis

  This study aimed to propose a method for quantifying the margin for error in tennis. Lift and drag coefficients were estimated, and a tennis ball trajectory simulator was developed to examine the effect of players’ height and side of the court (ad court or deuce court) on the margin for error in tennis serves. The margins for error were generally similar on both sides of the court when the rate of ball rotation in the serve was low but were different when the rate of ball rotation was high. The difference in the margin for error due to differences in players’ height was large when the rate of ball rotation was low. The method proposed here can quantify the margin for error taking into account players’characteristics and thus is expected to be useful for the coaching of individual players.
