    本年度は、後述の通り新型コロナイルスの蔓延により、研究活動に大きな支障が生じ、予定していた海外でのインタビュー調査が困難となり、また図書館へのアクセスに支障が生じたため、文献入手が困難となった。このため、主にインターネットを用い、本研究のコア概念である、難民の「統合（社会統合）」についてリサーチを行った。 研究代表者はこれまでの研究活動において、いくつかの文献のレビューを通じて滞日難民の社会統合について「滞日難民が、平時活動する社会において周囲の人々と同等の権利義務を有し、かつ日本での生活にあたって必須な有形無形の要素を取得した上で、周囲の人々と交流しながら生活できる状態、及びこのような生活の過程」（荻野 2018: 73）と定義した。しかしここに含まれる要素に加え、より近年では多文化的アプローチ（例えば、宮島 2018）、が含まれ得ることが確認できた。 その一方、難民の「統合（社会統合）」に関する定義について、いくつかの課題を確認した。①まず難民の統合の促進要因となり得る制度・政策面に関する視点、即ち各国における難民や移民に対する社会統合に関する制度・政策において、どのような状態を理想像・ゴールと捉えているのか、この視点からの言及が現状では弱いこと。②また難民（移民）当事者や彼らを取り巻く人々が考える「統合（社会統合）」に関する言及が不足していること。 以上の点から、先行研究のレビューなどを通じてこれらの点を明らかにし、難民の「統合（社会統合）」についてより精緻化する必要性があると考えられた。

    The purpose of this study is to develop a support method to promote the "sequestration" of Vietnamese refugees living in Japan. We interviewed Vietnamese refugees living in Sweden for this purpose. In the survey, we used the concept of "integration" to more specifically represent "sedentization". Analysis of the survey results revealed that Vietnamese refugees living in Sweden had experiences related to "integration" that could be classified into six categories of 20 concepts in their Swedish life. From the results of this survey and the previous research, we pointed out the necessity of re-examination about the support system and the enlightenment activity to the society as support for promoting " sedentization " of Vietnamese refugees in Japan.

    This study aimed to elucidate supports to facilitate the‘settlization’of Vietnamese refugees in Japan. For that purpose, we conducted interview researches to the Vietnamese refugees in Japan and in the U.S. to clarify the factors that facilitated ‘settlization’ of each of them. Based on the results of the researches, we pointed out that, in order to facilitate the‘settlization’of the Vietnamese refugees in Japan, it is essential to expand the systems to promote good relations between the refugees and the local residents, as well as the stages to accept multiple cultures.

    The purpose of this research is to examine a method of the social work for promotion of "relationship" in multicultural environment. As a result of research and analysis, it was indicated that it is required to provide supports to Vietnamese refugees by the person near them who understands the support view in social welfare, such as a social worker.
