    The Sure Start project has resulted in over 3, 500 children's centres being set up in England. They provide multi-integrated activities for children and families. The educational background of the workers in 8 centres in 6 areas of England was investigated by survey questionnaire and visits. Many staff members had several qualifications from university, further education college and other providers. A national framework of qualifications enable workers to progress along the road of lifelong professional development. It was also found that higher education providers were taking responsibility for evaluating many aspects of the provision as well as providing the training courses for the workers.

    This research was conducted with the aim of creating women's archives by analyzing and evaluating historical materials relating to women from a gender perspective, and considering ways to utilize the archives. In order to promote effective use of the women's archives, learning programs utilizing archive collections were developed and experimentally implemented, and the Women's Digital Archive System was created. In addition, Japanese Women's Archives Directory was constructed based on a survey to find the status of historical materials on women in Japan.

    In this research, is analyzed the policy of career education from the view of comparison of continuing adult education in the world. In the Part One is treated the international situation of four countries( England, Italy, Sweden and South Korea) and in the Part Two is treated two local prefectures (Gunma and Nagano) in Japan. In the European countries where it has groped for a youth's job support policy since the 1970s in the context of the vocational training for raising employability.In the 90s, European Qualification Framework was formed by the Lisbon strategy of EU. It was considered as the object of the participating promotion policy which targeted socially vulnerable groups, such as immigration and women, in accordance with the unemployment youth, and the employment support measures were not limited to young generation.Since in the case of Japan or South Korea many of guidance counseling and job assistance has been dependent on school and the job offer system in a new university graduate market has functioned stably, and the support system by the community is still immature. However, it is shown clearly that organizational activities of job placement office cooperate with community and the necessity of performing job assistance which put professional capability formation is increasing. In Gunma Prefecture and Nagano Prefecture where were made area 'studies, based on the needs of the youth, or a halfway retired employee, various gropes or NPOs were making subject of construction of the support system by networking of a school and society was thrown into relief.

    The purpose of this study is to clarify the perception of young women in three countries concerning their career prospects and the learning opportunities. The pilot study was conducted by interviewing forty-seven women in Japan, the United Kingdom and the Netherlands in 2004. The prominent feature about the British women was that most of them had "the family first" principal and they had very positive career prospects. About the Dutch women, they accepted the government policy of "work sharing" and each of them had a practical plan of developing vocational competence through education and training. The most significant finding about the Japanese women was that most felt an "uneasiness about the society", which made them feel uncertain about their career prospects.In 2005 a survey research questionnaire was performed in Japan with 471 women respondents (average age was 25.9). The results showed that approximately 87% of the women had "uneasiness" for the future. The most significant factor for this high level of "uneasiness" was "economic difficulty" (54.0%), and doubts about the possibility of "marriage" and "childbirth and child-rearing" being other significant factors. Another significant finding was that these women have a strong desire to learn, and over 85% of Japanese women want more learning opportunities to better understand their future prospects.The data suggests to us that there is necessary to give these women career guidance and learning opportunities after having some social experience, in order to reduce their "uneasiness" about their careers and society. Furthermore, the Japanese government should support them in developing a deeper confidence in themselves. This study concludes that there is an urgent need for a national policy that instills economic independence and more favorable career prospects for young women in Japan.

    In this research, district youth association news was collected, the history of the youth of an area was solved, and it aimed at exploring the state of future social education. Nihon Seinen-kan in Tokyo inputted all of the youth association news of about 13000 volumes collected by 1938 from 1927 with the digital camera. This number of pictures was about 210000.Investigation of the present condition of the youth association object of an area and history was performed in Moriyama-shi, Shiga, Kyoto Keihoku-cho, and Nakatane-cho, Kagoshima. From a medieval youth association object to today's youth association object was analyzed.
