Based on philosophy, history, media & cultural studies as well as UK creative industries and its policies, this research project was driven by three fundamental approaches below. (1) Historical approach focusing on creative turn, or people’s works and its changes to solve traditional knowledge problems, driving discussions physical to digital. (2) Theoretical approach to combine economic and technological logics with philosophical and cultural perspectives on concept of innovation. (3) Practical approach, integrating and developing new qualitative research methods to promote innovation. With historical, theoretical and practical approach, this project result in four topics; (1) Impacts of Creative Britain strategies on research & education, policy makers and industries. (2) Semantic turn of Innovation, industrial to creative, or physical to digital. (3) Integration of Media and Innovation Studies. (4) Development of "Innovation Research through Design" method and its application.
